Heifer News And Events
2009-2010 Events
We
are well under way this year and are planning some great events. Our
first event will be our 2nd Annual Halloween to End Hunger Pumpkin
Carving. We will be on Memorial Mall October 28 starting around
3:00pm. We will be selling pumpkins, cider and hot cocoa. Carving
tools will be provided!
We are also planning an International
Holiday Dinner between Thanksgiving and finals. Details are still being
determined but we will update the site as we make more decisions.
Meeting tonight September 23 in Lilly 2102 at 7:00pm. Come see what Heifer is all about!
Past Events
Our
Pumpkin Carving Night on October 29 was a great success. We earned
about $200 from pumpkin, cocoa, and caramel apple sales. Thank you to
all who participated!
In December we set up a booth in the
Purdue Ballroom for the Christmas Around the World event. We passed
out a lot of information and talked about Heifer to many people. It
was a good way to get our name and mission out.
Springfest was a
great success!! We sold a massive amount of cotton candy and dirt
pudding while handing out lots of information, buttons and stickers. We
also had fun letting people pet the lamb we had on hand. Thank you to
all those who put many man hours into this and bore the wet weather and
huge crowds.

Heifer Activities
All of Purdue Heifer's events operate with the goal of earning money for Heifer International. We are planning to make an animal donation to a family in need sometime soon. We are also hoping to 'adopt' a community this year so that all of the funds we collect can be directed to a specific area.Heifer International has over 800 projects operating in 53 countries and 27 US states. Check out Heifer.org to see where help is needed and what you can do to help!
